Jitterati
From Comics.org.nz
Jitterati is a four-panel cartoon by Grant Buist that has appeared weekly in Wellington's arts newspaper Capital Times since 2002. It features three characters, Jaimee (a redhaired librarian), Debbie (a blonde PA) and Tony (a Maori actor). They are usually shown inside a Wellington cafe discussing topical local issues, which have included the controversial motorway extension, Lord of the Rings, the Wellington singles scene and the general election. The female characters of Jitterati originally appeared as vacuous Auckland clubbers Zoe and Trish in the strip Clubbing Insensible which appeared in Re:Mix. Jitterati was originally printed in arch-rival City Voice in 2001 where it ran for 17 episodes before the paper unexpectedly folded. It re-emerged six months later in Capital Times, and switched from B&W to colour in mid 2004. There is a painted signal box at the intersection of Cuba St and Dixon St which features the characters. In 2006 Jitterati won the Eric Awards for Best Webcomic in NZ Comics. In 2008 it was inducted into the New Zealand Cartoon Archive.Jitterati website
